The sound of the ROV Oceanic Explorer operating near the IOS high frequency hydrophone array, located in Eastern Strait of Georgia (http://www.oceannetworks.ca/installations/observatories/salish-sea/eastern-strait-georgia) at 170m depth. Recordings by these hydrophones sound choppy because they have automatic gain control, which changes the gain in response to the loudness of the sounds received.
