These sounds, recorded by an Ocean Sonics icListen LF hydrophone deployed at 2662m in Cascadia Basin, are suspected to have been made by a sei whale. While confirmed recordings of sei whale calls are rare, these calls match the documented pattern for sei whale calls (100Hz to 40Hz downsweeps), but could have been made by other large baleen whales. The audio has been sped up by a factor of 10 to make it audible.
