The Sea Pig is a type of sea cucumber that 'walks' on the deepest ocean floor using hydraulically operated tube feet. The mouth is surrounded by a ring of feeding tentacles that sift through the mud and grab onto food. Whip-like papillae on the upper body are also modified tube feet; scientists believe these papillae may allow the sea pig to "smell" its way to food. About 4-6 inches long, Scotoplanes sp. are Echinoderms, related to starfish and sea urchins.
