Ocean Alive! shares some of the most exciting research taking place in the Northeast Pacific Ocean and Salish Sea-up to 300 kilometres off shore and 3000 metres deep. And it comes to us via the world-leading NEPTUNE and VENUS cabled ocean observatories. The observatories provide continuous data from hundreds of scientific sensors-including seismometers, hydrophones and live-streaming video cameras-on the seafloor, the surface and throughout the water column.
