A Benthic island in Barkley Canyon supports an interesting array of marine life (dive 1324). Photo taken: 16 May, 2010. Clumps of clay provide habitat for micro-communities of benthic organisms and small thornyhead rockfish (Sebastolobus sp.). We found this "benthic island" at a depth of 984m in Barkley Canyon Axis
