Electro-optical cable is spooled onto a drum aboard the M/V Crown Royal in Port Alberni, 29 August 2012. One end of this cable was later connected to Folger Pinnacle instrument platform (depth: 23 m) and the cable was unspooled onto the seafloor from Folger Pinnacle to Folger Passage node.
