Operations to replace the Endeavour short-period seismometer, 19 May 2014. This seismometer is housed in a titanium canister, which is jammed into a pre-drilled hole in a basalt rock 2192 metres below sea level. The instruments helps scientists gain insight in to the dynamics of this seismically active region.
