Remotely operated vehicle Oceanic Explorer, operated by CanPac, places an INDEEP experiment platform beneath a video camera system in the axis of Barkley Canyon (depth: 985 m), 9 May 2014. The research, led by Anna Metaxas (Dalhoulsie University) and Eva-Ramirez-Llodra (NIVA, Norway) compares colonization by deep-sea organisms on various surfaces and materials in different benthic environments.
